Hello and thank you for visiting my site.
I work as an enameller. It’s a very tedious and sometimes repetitious job. We throw away a lot of epoxy based enamel on an hourly base as we paint our coins, medallions, and knives. I started playing with this paint by quickly squirting, mixing, and swirling the paint onto small cardboard pieces, wax paper, and other flat surfaces. I’ve come up with some very interesting abstract landscapes, and sculptures with mixtures of color and shapes. My co-workers always say “Wow that is really cool looking stuff” The unique thing about this is, that the paint is thin and runny, but thickens up slightly the longer it sits before I create something with it. Therefore, I can mix thick with thin paint to get different results. The colors mix, swirl and have a unique quality of flowing on its own, to create one of a kind results. The fact that I have little control over what the paint does while it dries overnight, makes for some very interesting surprises each morning when I get to work. I have hundreds of these, what I might call “accidental art” pieces. The more I experiment, the more I’ve come up with a very interesting and pleasing to the eye collection of work.
I welcome your comments and/or suggestions. Thank you for your time, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
